Triathlon World Cup

Gavin Noble is competing is one of the final World Cup races of the 2011 season this Saturday 5th November. The Guatape ITU World Cup takes place in Columbia where a strong field of 61 men will tackle a 1,500 meter swim in a manmade lake, followed by a hilly 40km bike and 10km run along the waterfront. The added dimension of the race taking place at an elevation of 6,000 feet means many have arrived early to acclimatise.

While the likes of Matt Charbot and Jarrod Shoemaker of the USA are favourites, it’s still anybody’s race with it coming at the end of a long hard season. Those who acclimatise to the altitude and have dealt best with the rigors of travelling and racing all over the world will perform best.

Noble has spent the last 3 weeks preparing in Flagstar, Arizona with TI Coach Tommy Evans joining Noble for the last week. He goes into this race ranked 13th and will be looking for a solid result to gather yet more points towards Olympic Qualification.
