Championships & High Performance Administrator

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects related to the coordination, management and running of specific ILGU tournaments
  • Responsible for teaching and supporting districts in the use of ILGU competition software
  • Responsible for maintenance of the Golfnet website (member queries, tournament uploads, website upgrades etc.)
  • Administration and maintenance of ILGU Order of Merit(s), Scratch Cup Circuit and World Amateur Golf Ranking submissions
  • Provide general administrative support including answering, fielding and where possible dealing with all queries in relation to the ILGU Performance Programmes, Championships and website support
  • Responsible for the logistics and organisation of team/squad travel for competition at both domestic and international events (entries to competitions, travel and accommodation etc.)
  • Maintain a database of players across all levels of the performance programmes and produce reports for HP & Selection Committees throughout the season
  • Provide administrative support to the High Performance Committee
  • Organise logistics of meetings, training seminars, workshops and other relevant events as required
  • To work as part of a team with other ILGU administrative staff providing mutual cover as required
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communication with Volunteers and Players
  • Liaise with other administrative staff in the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Confederation of Golf in Ireland

Required skills and Experience:

  • A professional qualification in Sports Management or similar discipline
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of working with a variety of partners
  • Good knowledge of golf is essential
  • Excellent IT Skills, especially use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Passion to work in sport
