Monday 26th
The boys headed up to Malbun at 6.15 with the coach to be there in time for the course insection before the first race, the boy’s GS. Tess, Eimear & Anne followed on the later bus to be there before the start of the race. We were also to meet up with supporters/parents and OCI officials. After the first run we were all invited to lunch by Pat Hickey, President of the Olympic Council of Ireland. Everyone except for Enda and Alain stayed to prepare for the second run. There was a great team spirit around today with the broarder group with plenty of Irish flags around. Unfortunately two of the boys Gary (who skied very well on the steep part) fill and was out, also Ben who was almost at the finish also fell. This left Enda with a 2nd run which he completed and came in 68th place (110 starters) and his start bib was 95th.
On arrival back at the hotel the team went off to see some Ice Hockey, had some food and they retired at 9.30 for the early start again at 6.15am on Tuesday.
Because of the change in weather there has been some changes to the schedule.
The Ladies Slalom will not take place tomorrow Tuesday and on Wednesday the Ladies Giant Slalom will take place. The boy’s Giant Slalom has been changed to Thursday.
