Winter Youth Olympic Team all set for Jaca 07

Ireland’s team for this major Olympic event is:

Niamh Lyons – a 16 year old from Deansgrange, Dublin and a 5th year student at Colaiste Iosagain, Stillorgan. Interested in tennis, karate and ballet – but her No.1 is skiing.

Nicky McKelvey – from Hillsborough, Co.Down. He started skiing at age 3. Nicky is 15. he plays rugby and cricket for his school, Royal School Dungannon, and is also keen on golf.

Stephen Dent-Neville – from Rathfarnham, Dublin and a fifth year student at Sandford Park School in Ranelagh. He is interested in drawing and music and hopes to study architecture at UCD. He started skiing at age 6.

Shane McShera – from Malahide, Co.Dublin. A pupil at Malahide Community School, Shane is 16 and started skiing at age 4. He is also keen on playing soccer and hurling.

All the young Irish skiers have extensive experience on the slopes of Europe – and the Olympic Council of Ireland wishes the entire team the best of luck at this hugely important event in the Olympic winter sports calendar.
