Women’s Rugby 7’s

IRFU Performance Director David Nucifora met with Rio 2016 Chef de Mission Kevin Kilty in Howth today to discuss the Ireland’s Women’s 7’s programme.

They were joined by OCI’s  Martin Burke and Stephen Martin  and Team Ireland Women’s 7’s Team Manager Gillian McDarby.

Nucifora will be joined by fellow Olympic Sports Performance staff on October 9th and 10th at the OCI’s Team Leader and Coaches Conference in Malahide.

David Nucifora, is a former General Manager of the High Performance Unit with the Australian Rugby Union, was capped twice by Australia and coached Super Rugby franchises, the ACT Brumbies and Auckland Blues.

Within the IRFU’s professional structures David is responsible for planning and evaluation, the elite player development pathway and succession planning and professional coach development and succession planning.

He oversees national team performance, provincial team performance, national age-grade teams and Women’s team performance, sport science and medical services, elite referee development and National Professional Game Board (NPGB) and policy development.
