Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires

The Chef de Mission seminar is underway in Buenos Aires, Argentina for the Youth Olympic Games which will take place 6th –  18th October 2018.   Athletes between the age of 15 – 18 from over 200 Countries around the World will compete in 32 sports at these Games.

Martin Burke our Sports Director and Chef de Mission for the Youth Olympic Games is in attendance at this seminar.

Over 200 National Olympic Committee delegates are in Buenos Aires to visit the various venues of the games.   The set up will comprise of four Olympic Parks:

Youth Olympic Park which is south of the city,  70% of the athletes will compete here and competition venues in this area will be Boxing, Modern Pentathlon, Gymnastics, Athletics and Aquatics, this will be the largest of the four Parks.

Green Park which is north of the city and will host Equestrian, Triathlon, Tennis,

Urban Park which is east of the city which will be used as the Rowing venue.

Technopolis Park which is also north of the city will host the Badminton.

There will also be stand alone venues for other sports, and off site training venues.

Some of the volunteers who will be present at the games have joined the Chef’sSeminar and arranged a welcome for the delegates at the airport and assisted during the venue tours and meetings.
