Pat Hickey, EOC President and Raffaele Pagnozzi EOC Secretary General attended the official celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee today in Sofia. Pat Hickey handed over a commemorative plaque to his colleagues at the NOC of Bulgaria, President – Mrs Stefka Kostadinova and Secretary General – Belcho Goranov. The celebration was attended by numerous Bulgarian Olympic champions, Olympic medal holders, sports officials and also the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Professor Georgi Bliznashki and Minister of Youth & Sports Ms Evgenia Radanova.
They also attended a ceremony at the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria and Pat Hickey presented a commemorate plaque from EOC to the President and Secretary General to Mr Rosen Plevneliev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
A ceremony took place in the Coat of Arms Hall of the Presidency and the NOC Bulgarian Olympic Committee received the Honorary Award from the President of the Republic of Bulgaria. During the 90th Anniversary celebrations the NOC of Bulgaria also presented their book “Olympic Gloria of Bulgaria” with valuable history of their NOC.
