Joe Ward stopped Russia’s Nikita Ivanov after minutes in the first round. At age 19 he has already won a European Gold and now a guaranteed medal at the Worlds.
Jason Quigley is also guaranteed a medal and a unanimous decision over Hungary’s Zoltan Harcsa. A great achievement for Quigley. He will meet Russian – Artem Chebotarev in the semi-final on Friday.
Michael Conlon, Tommy Mc Carthy and Paddy Barnes all bowed out.
