BIOGRAPHY

John Joe Nevin won a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games in the bantamweight division.

Nevin is from Mullingar, County Westmeath and developed his career with St Michael’s Boxing Club.

Nevin is a two time Olympian, competing at Beijing 2008 and at London 2012, where he progressed to the final with victories over opponents from the United States, Cuba and Great Britain before securing silver.

He also won gold at the European Championships and multiple national titles, establishing himself as one of Ireland’s leading amateur boxers before turning professional.
