BIOGRAPHY

Noel Lynch competed in the men's individual recurve archery at two Olympic Games, finishing 74th at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games and improving to 62nd at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.

He came to archery through the connection between the pioneering Irish archer Jim Conroy and Newbridge College, Co. Kildare, where Conroy introduced the sport. He was coached specifically for the Seoul Games by Conroy as part of a graded development programme established by the Irish Archery Federation from the winter of 1977 onwards.

At Seoul he set a national record at the 70-metre distance with 320 points before finishing with his best round at 30 metres (346 points). He returned four years later for Barcelona 1992, improving to 62nd.
