The 10 candidate cities for the first ever Summer Youth Olympic Games to be held in 2010 met over the last two days in Lausanne. IOC President Jacques Rogge welcomed them and expressed his satisfaction that the high number of candidate cities was “an expression of the enthusiasm with which the whole Olympic Family has responded to the IOC’s initiative to create the Youth Olympic Games on 5 July 2007”.
