Ciara Peelo, the 29 year old sailing competitor from Malahide, Co. Dublin will carry the Irish flag at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in Beijing on August 8th.

Ireland will be represented by 51 top athletes at the world’s biggest sporting event, the Olympic Games, in Beijing in August. The athletes will challenge for medals in 12 sports – athletics, badminton, boxing, canoeing, cycling, equestrian, fencing, rowing, sailing, shooting,swimming, and for the first time, triathlon.
