Evans bows out in last 16

Ireland’s Scott Evans bowed out of the World Badminton Championships in Copenhagaen, going down to the World Number 1 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia.

The Irish number one lost out in straight sets, 21-11, 21-12 but managed to produce the toughest match yet for Lee Chong Wei.

An impressive World Championships for Scott following on from recently winning the Brasil Open.

The Irish have a number events coming up including the European Mixed team qualifications that will be held in Dublin at Baldoyle Badminton centre between the 7th and 9th of November.

This event will see Scott Evans, Sam and Chloe Magee back in action as they take on Bulgaria, Slovakia and Norway for a place in the top 8 championship finals later in the year.
