GAA places Olympic Torch Sculpture at Croke Park

An Olympic Torch sculpture will take pride of place on the Skyline of Croke Park Stadium .   Kilkenny Hurling legend Henry Shefflin was given the honour of carrying the Torch around the roof of the stadium during the Torch Relay which took place in Dublin ahead of the London Olympic Games 2012.  The sculpture was designed by sculptor Paul Ferriter.

 

The Torch sculpture erected on a plinth will be a permanent structure of Croke Park and will be part of the Museum Tour of Croke Park Stadium.
