Gold The Ronnie Delany Story

The story is told in Ronnie’s own words, in the words of those who watched in the stadium, and those who listened on radio at home. There are contributions from entertainer Bill Cosby, Olympic medallists John Treacy, Michael Carruth, Tony Byrne and Freddie Gilroy, journalists Peter Byrne and Jimmy Magee and Maeve Kyle, Ireland’s first ever female Olympian.

The 1956 games produced Ireland’s best ever performance in an Olympics- garnering 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.

There is also exclusive footage of Ronnie’s return to Melbourne, this month, to join in the 50th celebrations of the “Friendly Games” and renew acquaintances with the man who was favourite for the 1956 Gold medal, former Melbourne governor John Landy.
