Kurten snatches Monaco Grand Prix prize

The final competition at the weekend’s five-star show in the principality saw Kurten and the 11 year-old bay mare Castle Forbes Libertina battle through two gruelling rounds of show jumping to qualify for the jump-off against five of the world’s top riders, but the 37 year-old from Co. Antrim held her nerve and came home ahead of Dutch runner-up Jeroen Dubbeldam.
Kurten’s last Grand Prix outing with Libertina was at Cannes earlier this month, where she was beaten to the prize by the Ukraine’s Gregory Wathelet, but the mare produced an unbeatable poise and speed tonight to clinch the Grand Prix trophy
