Evans and Magee make quarter finals of Bitburger Grand Prix Gold.
Irish number one men singles player Scott Evans who is seeded 12 in this event has made his way to the quarter final beating World number 33 Anad Pawar of India. Evans will now take on Kwong Beng Chan of Malaysia in the quarter finals.
Chloe Magee in the womens singles also secured a quarter final beating Nanna Vainio of Finland 21-13 21-12. Chloe will now face Number one seed Nichaon Jindapon of Thailand who is World ranked 18.
Magee is also seeded number seven in the mixed playing with her Brother Sam they beat Andreas Heinz and Annika Horbach of Germany in the last round of 32 21-10 22-20. In the last 16 the Magee partnership faced Vitalij Durkin and Nina Vislova, the Irish pairing took the opening set 21-16 and had 3 match points at 20-17 in the second game but failed to convert as they lost out 24-22. In the final set the Russian duo reached 20 first but the Magees fought back to 19 before eventually losing out 21-19 in the 3rd set.
