O’Connor at Snowboard World Championships

Today sees the start of the 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Kreischberg, Austria.

This will be the first time that both freestyle skiing and snowboarding have been combined in a World Championships.

Ireland’s Seamus O’Connor will battle it out against the best in the world in Snowboard Slopestyle and Half Pipe.

There will be BBC red button and Eurosport 2 coverage of the Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships.

O’Connor  as a 16 year old became the very first snowboarder to represent Ireland at an Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and enjoyed an impressive time, finishing 15th and 17th in the men’s slopestyle and halfpipe events.

Elsewhere Team Ireland athlete Sean Greenwood is in action in the Inter-Continental Cup in Whistler later this week.
