Sporting mums were treated to the gold standard of pampering as guests of Olympic Council of Ireland sponsor’s P&G Salon Professionals in Dublin yesterday.
Mums talked about raising children, the intensive training , injuries, recovery techniques, diets, and bringing up talented youngsters.
All of the mums were delighted with a day being pampered and getting to know each other ahead of seeing their son’s and daughter’s compete in London 2012.
Mums of athletes such as Derval O’Rourke, Deirdre Ryan, Gavin Noble, Peter O’Leary and Grainne Murphy were very impressed with the recognition by P and G.
The P&G programme aims to honour the Athletes’ mothers as the true heroes of the Olympic Games.
The ‘nearest and dearest’ campaign is partnered with the Olympic Council of Ireland and Paralympics Ireland and aims to support the friends and families of Team Ireland and Paralympics Ireland Athletes leading up to and during the Olympic Games.
P&G Ireland will also ensure that every Athlete’s mum gets to see their son or daughter compete at the greatest show on earth by providing free tickets to their first appearance at London 2012.
