About Gymnastics
Gymnastics delivered one of the defining moments of Ireland's Olympic history at Paris 2024, when Rhys McClenaghan won gold on the pommel horse, Ireland's first ever Olympic medal in the sport, having finished seventh in the same event at Tokyo 2020 after a heartbreaking fall from the apparatus.
Artistic gymnastics at the Games features apparatus including the floor, vault, pommel horse, rings, parallel bars and high bar for men, and vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor for women, with team, all-around and individual apparatus medals on offer, each routine scored on execution and difficulty.
