William Crowe from North Sligo AC brought home another silver medal for Team Ireland’s athletics squad at the European Youth Olympics in Utrecht, Holland on 17th July.
Racing in the 1,500 metres against the best young athletes in his age group in Europe, the 16 year old Irish schools international battled it out with the winner Baptiste Michler of France, just fading in the final bend. Michler finished in 3.57.38 with Crowe taking the silver medal in 3.59.08.
There were also superb 5th places, in the face of severe competition, for Adam King in the Hammer Throw and for Nadia El-Tom power in the Girls 1,500metres.
Well done, Team Ireland
