The Olympic Council of Ireland will be in Brazil from tomorrow to assist its operational planning for Rio 2016.
A delegation led by Chef de Mission Kevin Kilty will include Stephen Martin (OCI), Billy Walsh (Boxing), Richard Vaughan (Badminton), Eanna Bailey (Modern Pentathlon) and Brian Nugent (Cycling).
The delegation will spend time in Rio with senior officials from the Rio 2016 Organising Committee NOC Relations and Sports Department.
In addition the OCI have coordinated meetings with the Brazilian Boxing Federation in Sao Paolo to establish training partnerships in the build up to Rio.
Finally the group will meet officials in Uberlandia to nail down their accommodation and sport specific requirements for a Team Ireland training base.
