The majority of Team Ireland will depart tomorrow for their final preparations ahead of the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.
They will travel to a 6 day training camp in Hong Kong Institute of Sport with top of the range facilities available to the athletes.
They will then fly directly to Nanjing.
The sports programme is based on that of the Olympic Games.
The Youth Olympic Games brings together talented young athletes aged from 15 to 18 from around the World (approx 204 countries will participate with approx 3800 athletes).
In addition to our athletes we will have a Young Ambassador representing Ireland – Leah Ewart who will act as a coordinator of the Cultural & Educational Programme during the Games.
The Games will be from 16 to 28th August 2014.
