The day was hosted by Chef de Mission Dermot Henihan along with Tom Rafter, Deputy Chef de Mission, Stephen Martin Chief Executive Officer, Martin Burke Sport Director, Giles Warrington, Sports Physiologist and Jack McGouran, Press Attache.
It was a successful day and an excellent start on the Journey to Beijing 2008.
It was a day to meet and welcome the new Team Managers Designate on Board and also to outline the commitment required and the Education, Olympic Awareness and other programmes that will be provided on the Journey.
A second “Induction Day” will be held for the Team Managers Designate for Swimming Keith Bewley, Mens Hockey Steven Hiles and Womens Hockey Aine Kearney who have already been accepted but were unable to attend on the 18th May. Plus the Team Managers Designate for Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Equestrian and Triathlon who are expected on board soon.
