Uberlandia delegation at OCI

The OCI welcomed a delegation from  Uberlandia this morning. They were met by Dermot Henihan, Honarary Secretary OCI  and CEO Stephen Martin, Sports Director Martin Burke, and Team Ireland 2016 training camp director Giles Warrington.

The Brazilian team were led by  Paulo Romes Junqueira, Secretary for Economic Development and Tourism and included the following:

Pedro Mendes- Director of Tourism, Tatiana Flores Rodrigues -Sports Tourism, Praia Club President and Directors of Sport Carlos Brago, Fernando Vidal Freitas and Andre Luis Lelis, Raquel Santos and  Fabiana Romaniello Convention Bureau, Councillor Helvico Queiroz,  and Official translator John Bagnall. 

Mr Junqueira said ” It will be an honour for the people of Uberlandia to recieve Team Ireland in 2016  and we look forward to seeing Irish athletes using our excellent accommodation and sports facilities in Uberlandia”.

The delegation are visiting the Olympic Council of Ireland and Paralympic Ireland and other Sporting Agencies and National Federations whilst in Ireland . They will also visit the London 2012 Brazillian training camp venue and Olympic facilities whilst in London.

Dermot Henihan said ” We are delighted to host the delegation and thank them for their continued support in striving to meet Team Ireland requirements for the 2016 training camp in Uberlandia”.
