Kenya’s Olympic Gold Medallist Wilfred Bungei visited the Olympic Council of Ireland offices this afternoon.
He is in Dublin as part of Africa Athletics Week as guest of honor of Africa Week, organised by its Chairperson Mubarak Habib .
Wilfred is the 800 metres Gold Medal winner from the Beijing Olympics and former 800 metres World Indoor champion.
Wilfred who will be facilitating the coaching workshops and officiating at the Morton Stadium said he ” looks forward to helping in the development of young athletes in Ireland, coming from the village of Kabirirsang in Nandi County, we have produced many World champions from grassroots with full community support” adding ” I am very happy to share my experience of growing future champions and from what I hear you have great potential emerging from the villages, towns and cities of your country”.
