EUROPEAN YOUTH OLYMPIC FESTIVAL

BAKURIANI 2025

The Winter European Youth Olympic Festival 2025 will be hosted in Bakuriani, Georgia, a picturesque mountain resort known for its natural beauty and winter sports facilities. The event will mark the first time that Georgia has hosted the Winter edition of the EYOF, though it previously hosted the Summer EYOF in 2015 in its capital Tbilisi.

THE GAMES

The competition programme for EYOF can vary from Games to Games depending on the facilities available in the host region. The 2025 EYOF will feature eight sports, namely alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, freestyle skiing, snowboard, figure skating, short track skating and ice hockey. 950 athletes from across Europe will compete. Bakuriani is the main centre for the Games but events will also take place in two other clusters, Batumi for figure skating and short track and Tbilisi for ice hockey.

One of the main goals of the EYOF is to serve as a stepping stone for young athletes to develop their skills and gain valuable experience for future Olympic Games. In addition to elite performance, the event places a strong focus on creating a positive atmosphere that encourages mutual understanding and respect among athletes from diverse European countries. Cultural exchange programs, educational activities, and Olympic-related initiatives are also key components of the festival, ensuring that it goes beyond just the sporting competition.
