Gigante competed for Ireland in the 1948 London Olympics with his sculpture, Eire Youth. Records indicate an Edmondo Vittorio Gigante of Belfast (1911), who married Mary A McDonagh (Paddington, London, 1961), and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, 1980
