Edwin McCrea

Edwin McCrea competed in the tennis at the 1924 Paris Olympic Games and, alongside Hilda Wallis in the mixed doubles, won the only Irish tennis victory of the Games when they beat an Indian combination 9-7, 4-6, 9-7. McCrea was a medical doctor. The Irish tennis team travelled without a manager and encountered significant difficulties accessing the competition grounds in Paris, with players reporting that they had to pay for basic amenities.
