Ireland's curlers will have a difficult task staying in the elite European A division after losing two further matches in Sweden, going down 10-3 to Germany and 9-4 to Norway. Germany and Norway are topping the A division group at present.

Ireland led 3-0 after the first three ends but threw away the early advantage in the fourth , sixth, and final end when they gifted 10 shots to Denmark, eventually losing 11-5.

Ireland's curling team opened the 2008 European Championships with a 6-5 win over France. However this was followed by defeats to Switzerland (5-10), Spain (4-7) and by Sweden (4-10).

Ireland went down 6-3 to the Czech Republic in their 5th game in the 2008 European Championships in Sweden. Spain, Ireland and the Czech Republic lie in the bottom 3 positions in the group, each having recording one victory so far. There are 10 teams in the Euro Finals, and they each play 9 matches. Ireland need to finish in the Top 7 to have a chance of getting to the World Championships.

Over the past few months Ireland's Curling team have been preparing at Greenacres Curling Centre, near Glasgow, in preparation for the European Championships to be held in Sweden in December 2008.

Ireland's Curling Team have competed in a number of warm up tournaments over the past few months in preparation for the European Championships in Sweden starting 3rd December 2008.

The Irish Curling team, supported by the Olympic Council of Ireland, have qualified for the European "A" Division this morning 7th December 2007.

Ireland's curlers Peter Wilson, Robin Gray, Neil Fyffe, and Tony Tierney have just won Gold at the European "B" Curling Championships in Fussen,Germany.

Ireland's curling team have made a great start to their bid to regain their place in the elite A division of European Curling.
