Beijing Olympian John Joe Joyce claimed a tense double countback win over Crumlin welterweight Shane Murtagh at the Elite Championships in Dublin over the weekend.

The Irish Amateur Boxing Association has named a four-strong squad for the 6th AIBA World Women's Championships in Bridgetown, Barbados next month. The Championships, which begins on September 9th, has attracted over 300 female boxers from 75 nations.
