The best of Irish schools’ athletics talent will compete at the All Ireland Schools Track & Field Final on Saturday, 30th May 2009 at Tullamore Harriers Stadium. This yearly event is the culmination of months of tough competition for schools’ athletes throughout Ireland, who have progressed through regional and provincial championships to secure their much sought after place in the All-Ireland final. Following the finals John McGrath , Team Manager, and selectors will nominate fourteen athletes to the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) for consideration to compete at the European Youth Olympic Olympics in Tampere, Finland between 18th – 25th July 2009. Martin Burke, OCI Sports Director and Irish Youth Olympic Team Chef de Mission will be in attendance.
