Circle K has today announced that it will exclusively sponsor RTÉ’s coverage of the Tokyo Olympic Games across television, online and mobile.
As official sponsor of the RTÉ Olympic coverage, and official partner of Team Ireland in Tokyo, Circle K will feature prominently in all RTÉ Olympic programming, including live and catch-up coverage on RTÉ2, RTÉ Player and RTÉ.ie. The 2021 edition of the Olympic Games will be the first time that RTÉ will broadcast coverage directly from the host city. RTÉ Sport’s Evanne Ní Chuilinn will present from Tokyo with a team of reporters covering the Irish story on the ground. Peter Collins and Darragh Maloney will present the coverage from Dublin, with expert analysts joining them to review Team Ireland’s performances as well as all the biggest stories of the Games as they unfold.
This agreement with RTÉ further strengthens Circle K’s association with the Irish Olympic Team. Since 2019, Circle K has been a proud partner of Team Ireland and has supported Ireland’s athletes on their journey to Tokyo through its in-store Here for Ireland initiative.
Over the course of Here for Ireland to date, Circle K customers have generated more than 218m digital coins, worth approximately €750,000for the athletes to use on Circle K products such as miles fuel, coffee, snacks, and other in-store items. 172 Irish athletes from around the country have signed up to Here for Ireland and since the initiative first launched they have redeemed enough miles fuel to travel to Tokyo an incredible 155 times.
