24 January 2022; Team Ireland has officially selected the team that will compete in the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing from the 4 – 20 February. The six athletes who are set to compete are two-time Olympian Seamus O’Connor in the Snowboard Halfpipe, Pyeongchang Olympians Tess Arbez in Alpine Skiing, Thomas Maloney Westgaard in Cross Country Skiing and Brendan ‘Bubba’ Newby in Freestyle Skiing, as well as first time Olympians Elsa Desmond, who competes in the Luge and Jack Gowe, who competes in Alpine Skiing.
