DAKAR 2022 SUMMER YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES
The fourth edition of the Summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will be held in Dakar, Senegal. It will be an historic Games being the first Olympic event to be held in Africa.
The Games will be held over 18 days in 2026 and will feature 35 sports. These Games were originally scheduled for 2022, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic the date was moved to 2026.
The inclusion of baseball5, along with the already-approved breakdancing, karate, skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing, means that all sports from the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Organising Committees’ proposals are now included in the Dakar 2022 programme.
