Irish Badminton Championships

Players from leading badminton countries around the world, many from Europe but with the USA, Canada, Peru, Russia, Israel and South Africa, also represented, will also compete at the event at the Baldoyle Badminton Centre in Dublin from 9 to 12 December.
In total, 31 Irish players will compete, along with 27 from England 27, 25 from Denmark, 24 from France and 18 from Germany.
World ranked 38 Dane Kristian Vinninghas, the recent winner of the Norwegian Open, is the first seed in the mens’ draw with Evans number two of 86 competitors.
On the women’s side, there are 58 players with England’s Elizabeth MCann (world rank 34) seeded first and Scotland’s Susan Egelstaff (world rank 40) second. Magee is seeded 10.
In the mixed competition, Canada’s Toby Ng and Grace Gao (world rank 16) are the No.1 Seeds with Ireland’s Sam & Chloe Magee (world rank 43) the No.3/4 seed.
Qualifying rounds will are on Thursday 9 December (11am – 9pm), Friday 10 December (9am – 9pm) and Saturday 11 December (11am – 6pm).
The finals are on Sunday from 1pm – 5pm.
