LISTEN – Ted Austin speaks about daughter Emma’s Irish Roots

Emma Austin is competing for Ireland this week in the Winter Youth Olympic Games. Based in New Hampshire, USA, Emma is also an international player on the Irish Lacrosse team, and comes from Irish roots on both sides. Her passport comes via her paternal grandfather who was born in Clonakilty, West Cork, as one of eleven children. Their father was a meat packer, and in the mid 1920s he moved to the United States with his family. The thirteen of them sailed across to Boston, including a six/seven year old Albert Austin.
