Billy Dardis captained Ireland at the country's first Olympic appearance in rugby sevens, in the men's rugby sevens tournament at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where Ireland finished tenth.
A scrum-half, he became captain of the Ireland men's sevens team in 2017 and led the side through a period that included qualification for the Rugby World Cup Sevens and core team status on the World Rugby Sevens Series.
Dardis played for Ireland at Under-20 level before moving into the sevens programme in 2015. He is from Naas, County Kildare.
