BIOGRAPHY

Elsa Desmond was Irelands first Olympic luge athlete and the Irish flag bearer in the opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympics. She began luge aged 16 in Innsbruck after first seeing the sport at the 2006 Winter Olympics and went on to found the Irish Luge Federation with support from her family. She is a qualified doctor.
