Michaela Walsh won gold in the featherweight division at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and holds a record 11 Irish Elite titles.
She reached the round of 16 in the 57kg featherweight division at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games, meeting Irma Testa of Italy at Tokyo and Svetlana Staneva of Bulgaria at Paris.
At Tokyo 2020 she and her brother Aidan became the first brother and sister to box at the same Olympic Games. Aidan won bronze at those Games.
Walsh first competed for Ireland internationally at 15, winning silver at the inaugural European Women's Junior Championships. She won silver at the 2014, 2018 and 2026 Commonwealth Games. She grew up in west Belfast and boxes at Emerald Boxing Club. Her father Damien was a boxer and introduced both Michaela and Aidan to the sport before their teens.
