Stephanie Meadow finished tied seventh at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with rounds of 72, 66, 68 and 66 for a total of 272, three shots away from a bronze medal and one of the finest results by an Irish golfer at the Games.
She has competed at three consecutive Olympic Games, placing tied 31st at Rio 2016 and 39th at Paris 2024.
Meadow finished third at the 2014 US Women's Open on her LPGA debut, three strokes behind the winner Michelle Wie, and matched that best major finish with third at the 2023 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. She won the Women's Amateur Championship in 2012 and played in the Curtis Cup for Great Britain and Ireland in 2012 and 2014, and won her first professional title at the IOA Championship in 2018, adding the World Invitational at Galgorm Castle in 2019.
She began playing golf at seven at Ballyclare Golf Club and became a member of Royal Portrush before her family relocated to South Carolina when she was 14. She became the first four-time first-team All-American in University of Alabama women's golf history, winning nine collegiate titles and graduating with a degree in accounting. She is from Jordanstown, County Antrim.
