BIOGRAPHY

George Collie competed in the arts competition at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Games, one of eight Irish artists who entered nine exhibits in the painting competition staged at the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science and Art from 30 July to 31 August 1932.

He was one of three artists who entered from the Dublin Metropolitan School of Art alongside Hilda Roberts and Sean O’Sullivan. The painting competition at Los Angeles was an occasion on which success eluded the Irish artists.
