BIOGRAPHY

Fionnuala McCormack is the first Irish woman to compete at five Olympic Games.

She has competed across multiple disciplines at the Olympic Games, including the steeplechase, 5,000m, 10,000m and marathon, with top finishes including 15th in London 2012 and top-25 marathon finishes at subsequent Games.

McCormack made her Olympic debut at Beijing 2008 and competed at all subsequent Games up to Paris 2024.

A two-time European cross country champion in 2011 and 2012, she also won team gold in 2012 and recorded a fifth-place finish at the World Cross Country Championships in 2014.
