BIOGRAPHY
Paddy Anglim competed in the men’s long jump at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympic Games, having come to prominence at the decathlon trial where his jump of 7.17m was described in the athletics press as ‘a performance that had become so rare as to be hailed as a phenomenon.’
A fine all-round athlete from Rosegreen, near Clonmel, County Tipperary, Anglim finished 21st in the long jump with a best effort of 6.81m.
