Eilish Flanagan won silver at the 2019 European Under-23 Championships and set a Northern Ireland record of 9:40.68 for the 3,000 metres steeplechase in May 2021.
She made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, running a personal best of 9:34.86 in the heats.
Flanagan won a USA Division II collegiate title at Adams State University, where she studied alongside her twin sister Roisin, also a distance runner. She finished sixth in the 3,000 metres steeplechase final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and contributed to an Irish team bronze medal. She is from Gortin, County Tyrone.
