Andrew Coscoran won bronze in the 1,500 metres at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham - the first major outdoor championship medal of his career - coming through on the inside off the final bend to finish in 3:36.24, behind Stefan Nillessen of the Netherlands and Sweden's Samuel Pihlström, having been seventh entering the closing stages.
He holds the Irish national record for the 1,500 metres outdoors at 3:30.42, along with multiple Irish indoor records in the 1,500 metres, mile, 3,000 metres and 5,000 metres. He reached the semi-finals of the 1,500 metres at the Tokyo 2020 Games, running 3:35.84, and competed in the heats of the same event at Paris 2024.
From Balbriggan, he joined Star of the Sea AC as a teenager before taking up an athletics scholarship at Florida State University at 18, later returning to Ireland to study at Dublin City University.
