Eve Higgins was first brought into the Ireland Sevens and 15s squads at 16 and awarded her first full-time senior sevens contract at 18.
She played in the women's rugby sevens tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where Ireland finished eighth on the team's first appearance at the Olympic Games.
Higgins began playing rugby at eight at Barnhall RFC in Leixlip, playing on boys' teams until Under-13 level. With no girls' team at the club, her father contacted clubs around Dublin and she joined Railway Union, where she continued to play. She is from Kilcock, County Kildare.
