Peter Sherrard has been Chief Executive of the Olympic Federation of Ireland since 2018. During that time, he has overseen a re-brand, the introduction of new sponsors, a doubling in staff numbers and the launch of Team Ireland’s sport science partnership agreement with the Sport Ireland Institute.
He had previous experience at director level in international commerce, tourism, aviation and sport, in roles covering commercial / marketing, sales, communications, operations and sponsorship with Bord Bia, Tourism Ireland, Ryanair and the FAI. Peter has fluent French and Italian and sits on the Sport Ireland High Performance Committee.
Ed joined the OFI full-time during March 2021 as Financial Controller having consulted to the organisation since early 2017. Passionate about sport, he has extensive experience of the Irish sporting industry, having performed similar roles for Swim Ireland and Cricket Ireland since emigrating from his native South Africa back in 2008.
A fully qualified Chartered Accountant who trained at KPMG Pretoria, Ed has also performed numerous volunteer roles, sitting on various finance and audit committees of National and Provincial sporting governing bodies.
Catherine Tiernan is the Commercial Director of the Olympic Federation of Ireland, responsible for leading Team Ireland’s commercial partnerships, sponsorship, hospitality and revenue generation activities.
Drawing on her expertise in sponsorship, stakeholder engagement and commercial strategy, she works to secure investment that supports athletes and strengthens Olympic sport in Ireland. Catherine also oversees partner activations and hospitality programmes across the Olympic, European and Youth Games cycles, helping to enhance the experience and impact of Team Ireland on and off the field of play.
Gavin Noble is the Performance and Marketing Director for Team Ireland. As an Olympian, he made history as Ireland’s first-ever male triathlete at the London 2012 Games.
Gavin served as Chef de Mission for Team Ireland at the Paris 2024 Olympics, marking the country’s most successful Games to date, and was Deputy Chef de Mission for Tokyo 2020.
As Chef de Mission for LA28 and all summer events within the quadrennial, he and his team are accountable for Team Ireland’s performance strategy, working alongside Ireland’s best performance directors from Olympic Sports.
With extensive experience in global sports marketing, he continues to drive the development of the Team Ireland brand, strategically aligning the performance, commercial, and communication efforts of the OFI.

Nancy is employed by the Olympic Federation of Ireland as High Performance Manager since 2019.
As part of the Games leadership team, she is Chef de Mission for Winter Games including Beijing 2022 and Milano Cortina 2026 and Deputy Chef de Mission for Paris 2024 and LA 2028. She came to the OFI having worked as Player Development Manager with Rugby Players Ireland and before that, as Performance Director for Paralympics Ireland during the very successful London and Rio Games cycles.
Martin Burke is the OFI’s Sports Director. A former international racing canoeist, he has been in the employment of the Olympic Federation since 1992. In that time he has attended every Summer Olympic Games in a team support role, as well as the Torino and PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. He has been Chef de Mission at the three editions of the Youth Olympic Games held to date and also carried out this role at nine editions of the European Youth Olympic Festival. He has qualified with distinction in Executive Masters in Sport Organisations Management (MEMOS).
Mark Mac Namee joined the OFI in May 2023 as Sports Services Manager. He graduated from Dublin City University with a Bachelor of Business Studies degree and subsequently completed a Msc. in Sports Management at Coventry University. Mark has experience in the Sport Industry having worked with the Football Association of Ireland and UEFA. He brings experience across a number of areas including operations, logistics, kit/equipment management and more.
Mark is passionate about sport having played soccer and Gaelic football with his local team, Clontarf. More recently, Mark has also completed the Dublin marathon and an Ironman 70.3 distance triathlon.
Alex has been Office Manager of the OFI since 2007 and has been responsible for the overall coordination of a broad range of services that allow the organisation to operate efficiently. With over 13 years of experience she manages administrative and financial duties, assisting the Financial Controller, and is in charge of accounts payable, receivable and invoicing. She has also recently qualified as an Accounting Technician as part of her ongoing professional development and she speaks two languages, Hungarian and English.
Linda O’Reilly has been integral to the Olympic Federation of Ireland’s Games operations since the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. Now Operations Manager, she leads on end-to-end delivery of Team Ireland’s participation across Olympic, Youth Olympic, European and Continental Games, overseeing logistics, project management, Games-time readiness, and cross-stakeholder coordination. She also continues to provide executive-level support to the President.
Linda is the OFI’s lead liaison for Olympic Solidarity, managing funding relationships with the IOC, EOC, and ANOC, and aligning investment with athlete pathway and NOC development priorities. She works closely with Finance to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Internationally, she has held multiple mission leadership roles, including Chef de Mission at the inaugural ANOC World Beach Games (Doha 2019), and has served at various Winter European Youth Olympic Festivals. Prior to joining the OFI, Linda worked in financial services, bringing expertise in compliance, risk, and operations.
Heather Boyle
Head of Communications
Heather Boyle is an experienced sport and communications professional, with over 15 years working across high-performance sport, media, and athlete advocacy.
As Head of Communications and Athletes’ Commission Support at the Olympic Federation of Ireland, she leads on all aspects of communications strategy, including Games-time media operations, brand visibility, press liaison, and digital content delivery. She also supports the Athletes’ Commission, ensuring athlete voice is embedded in decision-making and governance structures.
A former international rower and cyclist, Heather competed at multiple World Rowing Championships and narrowly missed qualification for Athens 2004. She has previously worked in media teams at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, and since 2018 leads on all communications and media functions at the Olympic Games, from youth to senior level.
Her early career was in international finance, and she holds qualifications in Public Relations and a Master’s in Equality Studies. She is a strong advocate for equity in sport at all levels.
Suzanne manages Team Ireland’s social media channels and supports across a wide range of marketing and communications functions. She has a BA in Creative Digital Media from Munster Technological University, Cork. Prior to joining the OFI, she held a graduate position as a Junior Producer at Red Bull HQ for Sports & Events in Austria.
Kevin Keane is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with more than a decade of experience in national media and a proven track record of delivering strategic growth in Irish sport.
As Marketing and Commercial Manager at the Olympic Federation of Ireland, Kevin works across sponsor and stakeholder engagement, brand, and event delivery. He serves as staff liaison to the Irish Olympians Association.
Previously, Kevin was Head of Marketing, Communications, and Sponsorship at Triathlon Ireland, where he increased commercial, secured major partnerships, and directed a successful digital and brand transformation.
Kevin began his career as a journalist with the Irish Independent, Irish Daily Mail, and INN
He holds a degree in Law and German, and a Masters in Journalism.
Joanna Lee is a Lead Project Manager for the Olympic Federation of Ireland, with specific responsibility in sponsor relationship management and event management. Working with the Marketing and Commercial teams, Joanna supports the Dare to Believe schools programme and is the lead planner for Team Ireland events and Team Ireland Foundation events.
Joanna has over 20 years’ experience working in communications, sponsorship and event management across Ireland’s largest companies.
Previously, she was Head of Corporate Affairs at Three Ireland, where she was responsible for the successful execution of Three’s external corporate communications, internal communications and CSR strategies.
Joanna was also a key member of the O2 Ireland sponsorship and events team, responsible for brand activations and relationship management of the IRFU, Ryder Cup and European Open.
Ciara Lyons is the Event and Sponsorship Manager at the Olympic Federation of Ireland and works within the MarComms team to drive the events, partnerships and promotions that ensure a hugely positive Team Ireland and Olympic experience.
Ciara joined the team after an extensive stint abroad which included working in sport, marketing and media roles in Canada and Australia and most recently at the heart of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 team as Creative Content Senior Specialist.
Cian Warren joined the OFI in 2026, having previously worked in ticketing at the Team Ireland House at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and at various Team Ireland events since 2021. He holds a BSc in Marketing from Technological University Dublin
