Erin King was identified as a Player of National Interest at 17 and joined the Ireland sevens programme.
She played in the women's rugby sevens tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where Ireland finished eighth on the team's first appearance at the Olympic Games.
King has English parents of Irish descent and grew up in Dubai and Doha before the family returned to their Wicklow roots in her teenage years. She began playing rugby at Naas RFC at 15 and also played minor Gaelic football for Wicklow. She plays club rugby for Old Belvedere RFC and is from Blessington, County Wicklow.
