Alanna Fitzpatrick was part of the Ireland team that won the country's first World Rugby Sevens Series tournament, in Perth in 2024.
She played in the women's rugby sevens tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where Ireland finished eighth on the team's first appearance at the Olympic Games.
Fitzpatrick made her international debut in 2023, shortly after completing her Leaving Certificate. She began playing rugby with PortDara RFC and progressed through Ireland's development pathway before joining the national sevens squad. She is a qualified personal trainer and one of a small number of Olympians from County Laois, and is from Portarlington.
